Q: Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

I usually read more than one book at a time, which is what I’m doing now, but I’ll just go with one of the reads for now and say Blaze (or Love in the Time of Supervillains) by Laurie Boyle Crompton. I’m absolutely adoring this book so far. Actually, my inner nerd is. I have a thing for comics and superheroes and although I’m not very far along in this one just yet (only 75 pages in), I think it’s already safe to say that I’m going to enjoy this book.

What hooked me in immediately is that it started with a quote:

“Here me X-Men! No longer am I the woman you knew!
I am FIRE! And LIFE INCARNATE!
Now and forever…I am PHOENIX!” --Jean Grey, The Uncanny X-Men #138

Have a wonderful bookish weekend!

  1. Haven't heard of it, but it sounds good!
I admit, I'm not a huge fan of comic books/superhero books, but if I can watch Marvel, why can't I read similar novels? HAHA

    1. Lol, well it takes some time (and sometimes patience from me), but I've worked out a system where I try not to read books of the same genre/general plot lines at least so I don't get mixed up. :P

  4. Lately I've been reading 2-3 books at once. The book sounds interesting! I'll have to pass that onto a friend who is married to a HUGE comic guy (Although I'm attending my local comic con for the first time in June. eeek! I have NO idea what to expect).

  5. I'm not too much into comic-style novels, but it does sound like fun!

    1. Well it's not really a comic-style. Just a YA Contemporary about a girl who is a bit nerdy and loves comic books--and her narration really shows it. Haha! :D It is fun! :) Thanks for stopping by! I'll visit soon. :)
