Q: What is one thing you wish you could tell your favorite author?

Well this is a tough one. I have more than one favorite. Hm. So, I’ll pick one of my longer-time favorites (since childhood), an author that I felt has had a special presence through both reading and writing.

Dear Stephen King,
I’m forever grateful to you and the inspiration you gave me through your writing and books while I was growing up. Yes, when I read “It” at the age of ten, I had nightmares for months. Especially when I saw the movie shortly after. I still can’t look at clowns without getting the heeby-jeebies. But that’s what made you so much more awesome. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being one of my greatest influences.

A fan for life,
Pixie

Have a great weekend and happy reading!

  1. Hi & Happy Friday Pixie,

A great answer! I haven't read a Stephen King book in so long but I always enjoyed them.

  2. I loved his memoir on writing. I listened to it as an audiobook in a writer's craft class -- it's awesome when authors narrate their own audiobooks.

    New GFC follower. My FF.

    1. I have never listened to an audiobook before in my life. Haha. But I did hear that he did that, and it sounds like it would be neat. I may get it just to hear that one specifically.

Thank you! :) Sorry for the late reply, too. :)

  3. Hopping through. Nothing like a good scare. I've never read anything by King though. Bad of me.

    1. I'm rather shocked at the amount of responses I got this last week by how many people who haven't read a single King book before. I thought for sure at least everyone has read at least one. Lol. Oh well. :P If you're ever interested, I really recommend his older work though like "The Shining" and "Misery". :)

  7. I don't think I've read a Stephen King book. Did he write Pet Semetary? That movie scared me and the book too.

    Have a lovely Friday.

    1. Thank you! :) Yes, he wrote Pet Semetary! Ahh.. that one freaked me out too. Lol. The book is always worse than the movie of course (in this case, my meaning of "worse" is meant for scarier). Haha. Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

  11. You were reading Stephen King at age 10? Dang.....

Even though he's written basically a bajillion books (accurate estimation, I'm sure...) I've never actually read one. I'll have to get on that. Do you have a favorite?

Long time reader, but a new follower!

    1. I was not a normal kid. Lol. Of course, I still enjoyed "Goosebumps" and my "Nancy Drew" books around that age too. But they weren't challenging enough for me as far as reading and giving me the stories I wanted. Haha. Like I said, just a weird kid, I guess. I stole my mom's Stephen King book one day, and that was it from there. :P
My favorite Stephen King book currently is The Shining. One of his older works, but I love it. It's been a favorite for years. I'd definitely recommend it. And don't worry, you're not the first to say you haven't read King. I've actually seen quite a few say it recently. Haha. :P If you do though, I hope you enjoy! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by! :) Sorry for the late response. It's been a bit of a hectic week/weekend. Blegh. Finally able to relax a bit the next couple of days. For just a bit anyway. Haha. I'll be able to catch up and visit everyone back then. :)
