Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison at Alison Can Read. If you want to participate, it's easy. To learn more and enter, check out: Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Join the fun and make some new friends!

Please consider following via email subscription, Google Reader, or RSS feed if you can’t follow through GFC as a non-Blogger member. Also, there is a new feature (thanks to Parajunkee for the find!) there on the sidebar where you can follow me directly through LinkyFollowers! GFC will not allow non-Blogger followers after March, so I greatly appreciate everyone who still continue to follow through either of these other means. Thanks! (Blogger members can still follow through GFC and won’t be removed after March)

Q: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

Harry Potter books (of course!)

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown (700 pages/mass-market paperback)

Dreamcatcher by Stephen King--though not his best.

The Lord of the Rings. It was one complete book with all three in one--1285 pages all together. I was about fourteen or fifteen when I read it, and it took me a long time to read. Haha. Honestly wasn’t a big fan…but that’s because I’m not normally into that genre. Though I did love the movies, and I absolutely loved The Hobbit!

I love long reads. Though my range is normally in the 400-500 range. My mind is pretty much drawing a blank right now on the 600+ reads that I have picked up in recent years because there are so few on the list.
Some long reads (600+) on my TBR pile for 2012:

Under the Dome by Stephen King
Angelology by Danielle Trussoni
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

Happy Friday and happy reading!

  1. Hopping through. I haven't read Angels and Demons. My husband and parents raved about it. I liked Dan Brown's most popular book (the name somehow has escaped me)/

    1. A lot of people kept saying Angels and Demons was better than The Da Vinci Code, but I disagreed. It was still very good...but not as good. My opinion though, of course. ;) It's actually the prequel that was released later. :) Thank you for dropping by! Sorry I'm a bit late in my response...it has been such a chaotic week! :)

  6. I forgot about Angels and Demons. I should have added that to my own list. I started to read A Discovery of Witches too, but had to set it aside because it reminded me too much of A.S. Byatt's Possession.

  7. Oh, I have to read Dreamcatcher. I watched the movie because of the actors, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped and since I usually read books before I see the film-adaptions I was just.. sort of reluctant to buy the novel.

    New LinkyFollower! :)

    1. You know the books are always better than the movie. :P It still rings true for Dreamcatcher. Haha. It really wasn't his best work. I'm a huge Stephen King fan, and I think that was where he started falling a bit...but it was still pretty good. Very twisty anyway. :)

      Thank you! :)

  8. Hopping through! I totally get what you meant about the Lord of the Rings. That was my situation as well lol. It was so hard to get through them all though I love the movies!
