Top 10 Book Covers of 2011

Top 10 of 2011

I'm joining the Top 10 fun! There is a different topic everyday through Friday. For more details, click the above banner!

Today's Topic: Top 10 Book Covers of 2011

I'm doing something a little different here. All of these books were 2011 releases, covers that I absolutely adored. However, I haven't read some of these books yet, but they are on my shelf or on my list to pick up in the near future!

And so the list begins in no particular order:

Across the Universe is a cover I fell in love with the moment I saw it. But honestly, time slipped away from me, as well as doubts due to mixed reviews, etc., and I just haven't got around to reading it just yet. I recently got it as a Christmas present for myself though, so it's going to be read real soon. ;) I love the colors and text on the hardback edition- although I purchased the paperback copy, which is just as gorgeous too.

One of my favorite books of the year, and one of my favorite covers of the year. I'm not normally a red person, but it's fitting and beautiful for this book. And hey, I'm certainly not complaining with the Adrian image.

Every cover I've seen for the Wicked Lovely series, most particularly the last book here, has been stunning beyond words. They do a fabulous job. This one was my favorite cover of the series. Sadly I haven't got around to reading it yet and it's one of my top-wishlisted books.

Another favorite book of the year. I've heard rumors that not many were real big fans of the cover actually. I guess I'm different. I love it. It's what made me decide to go ahead and get the book on release day.

An epic ending. An epic cover. Ash on the front. Puck on the back. This cover made me drool. Enough said.

I haven't read The Night Circus yet. But this cover reminds me of Tim Burton. And I love Tim Burton and any of that kind of style. I can't wait to pick this up.

While not a favorite of the year, I still immensely enjoyed it. Speaking of Tim Burton, I look forward to seeing what he does with this for film! The cover grabbed me completely and that's why I picked it in the first place. Total creepfactor with the floating girl and strange text.

Haven't read this one... but the cover is bright and beautiful. I love the colors and the fact that it's different from most covers I see. I've heard great things about this book too.

This is one of those covers that I think you have to see to believe. With just the picture, you don't get the effect of its beauty so much. I haven't read it, but it's on my shelf and I plan to start it sometime within the next week or two. This cover is stunning! It has this beautiful silver raised lettering and gorgeous purple shimmer to it. This picture doesn't do it justice. Great cover, and I look forward to reading.

  1. Wow, Darkest Mercy is really pretty. I like how the flower's the center of attention and how the model in the back fades to a slight blur and don't forget the little gold specks thrown in there! ;) LOVE!

Unearthly's also on my list too!

  2. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is definitely a standout cover for the year - I read tons of blogs that were so buzzed about the book because of the haunting girl on the front, although the story itself didn't quite live up to it. :)

I enjoyed the cover for Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9535352-texas-gothic
