“And right now, the most dangerous part of the Hunger Games is about to begin.” --last sentence of chapter twenty-six
Chapter twenty-six is toward the end of our first book, but still as intense as the rest. Just when you think it’s over for Katniss, it’s not. More tension is beginning to build here. There’s something sinister lurking in the Capitol--they’re angry that her and Peeta cheated them, when actually they’re angry that the Capitol had tried to play them at the end. They staged the berries to get out together and we see with a tense sequence that Katniss cares deeply for Peeta as she struggles to stay at his side the whole time afterward once they are out. Though she can’t, she continuously asks about him and soon finds her feelings are much deeper than she had assumed all along. My my, does she have some thinking to do when she gets home.
I know we’ve all seen the trailer a million times by now, but have you seen the Safe and Sound music video? I figured I’d share that. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of Taylor Swift’s music (though she’s adorable herself) but I absolutely love this song and it’s perfectly fitting for the movie.
What’s your favorite part in the Hunger Games?
My favorite part, as awfully sad as it is, is when Katniss sings to Rue.
Who’s your favorite character (besides the main three-- Katniss, Peeta or Gale)?
Cinna and Haymitch
Movie Talk: Are all the characters pretty much as you imagined for the film?
Yes! I was really surprised when I saw the cast for the first time.
Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!
